Itβs happening! π€©πΊ We are thrilled to welcome the legendary Peven Everett on Saturday, August 8 at Open Doors in Berkeley.
This is an all-day, 3-part event bringing together soul, house, community, conversation, and live music from morning until late night. The event is FREE to attend (NOTAFLOF - No One Turned Away For Lack Of Funds), and all contributions go directly towards supporting Peven and our 5 beneficiary organizations!
Every dollar you donate or spend on tickets is matched 100% individually to 5 participating organizations through a generous matching grant provided by the Schwartz Foundation (an East Bay private foundation focused in music and civics education)!
Weβre kicking off at 10:00 AM with brunch served (with vegetarian options available). This is a small, intimate gathering, so come ready to connect, ask questions, and soak in some history from someone who has helped define a sound. Grab your seat, bring your appetite, and get ready for a morning of good food, good music talk, and good company with Peven Everett.
Moderators: Nina Sol & Patrick Wilson (ELEMENTS Oakland) + B Dukes / Blu Moon (Slow Burn Social).

π« Get Peven Everett Live Show Ticket on Luma βHome Bass is a community space in Oakland built by and for artists, dancers, and friends. Starting from a shared vision in the fall of 2024, Home Bass has evolved into a living room for the community, hosting dance classes, concerts, co-working, rehearsals, and parties. Together with our members, weβve built a sprung dance floor by hand, hosted visiting artists from around the world, and created a weekly home for House and Hustle dancers who now have a consistent space to practice and grow together.
From the beginning, we've operated on a gift economy. We don't charge organizers rent, we don't sell tickets, and no one is ever turned away for lack of funds. Keeping our space accessible, especially for working artists, is deeply important to us. We've seen whatβs possible when people can just show up and be themselves without worrying about cost, and our community has shown up in kind: members have contributed art for the walls, organized clean-up days, sourced materials and furniture, helped with construction projects, and stepped up to organize their own events. We feel honored and grateful for all the ways people show up in collaboration.
